Thousands of fans, who had paid premium ticket prices, grew frustrated when Messi left the field in under 10 minutes, leading to protests, bottle-throwing, and damage to hoardings. Mamata Banerjee announced a high-level enquiry committee to investigate the mismanagement and recommend corrective measures.
