Washington DC: US President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he has directed the country's Navy to take decisive action against any vessels attempting

Donald Trump's post on social media came shortly after the US military seized another tanker associated with the smuggling of Iranian oil.

Trump’s announcement came not long after US forces boarded an oil tanker in the Indian Ocean.

President Trump said Thursday that the U.S. Navy will "shoot and kill" any boat that lays mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway at the heart of his conflict with Iran.

"I have ordered the US Navy to shoot and kill any boat, small boats though they may be ... that is putting mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz," said President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump also said, without providing any evidence, that the US has "total control" over the waterway, which was "sealed up tight" until Iran is able to make a deal.

Donald Trump said that US minesweeping operations are already under way in the Strait of Hormuz and instructed that those efforts be intensified.
