A flight bound for Israel from Dubai diverted to Saudi Arabia after transmitting emergency signals due to a ⁠fight between the pilots rather than a hijacking, an Israeli official has said.

The Flydubai flight sent out a “squawk code” of 7700 - an international emergency signal - about two and a half hours after takeoff, according to air traffic tracking website Flightradar24.

An Israeli official told Reuters that the pilots had transmitted the emergency signals after getting into a physical altercation with each other.
