Officers said residents in Edinburgh and Glasgow were left terrified by the "targeted" disorder.

Assistant Chief Constable of Police Scotland, Tim Mairs, has spoken out after emergency service workers came under attack on Bonfire Night in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Police and firefighters were targeted by fireworks, bricks and bottles in pockets of disorder across Scotland.
