As community members drop off flowers to remember the three men killed in Monday’s shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, a disturbing picture of the two teenage shooters is emerging.

Police raced Monday to catch an armed teenage runaway before he and another teen opened fire on a San Diego mosque, killing three men and then themselves. The shooting is being investigated as a hate crime, San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said.
