Bangladesh is tense as violent protests have erupted in multiple cities after the death of youth leader Sharif Osman Hadi, who passed away late Thursday following an assassination attempt earlier last week.

After the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, offices of Prothom Alo and Daily Star in Dhaka were attacked and vandalized, with the Daily Star building set on fire.

The protests took place despite Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus urging people to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies to carry out their work properly.
