A 35-year-old man, Shankar of Kalloorani near Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district, was found dead in a defunct stone quarry on Saturday. Police said following a complaint, they inspected a stone quarry in the area and recovered the body. It was sent to Aruppukottai Government Hospital for a post-mortem. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Shankar was reportedly not mentally stable.
