From The Hindu Archives, July 29, 1926: A special cable to “The Times of India” from London, dated July 26th states:— A former attache at the Czar’s court informs certain Italian newspapers that Czar Nicholas deposited a fortune in London on the outbreak of war of which, despite withdrawals to alleviate Russian distress, £12,000,000 plus interest remains.
