A 58-year-old woman suffered injuries on her eyes when two persons, including a woman, sprayed chilli powder on her face and escaped with her five-sovereign gold chain. Police said on Saturday that Pappa was living alone in Meenakshipuram in Vembakottai panchayat, after the death of her husband, a Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) of Police, a few months ago.
