From The Hindu Archives, December 17, 1975: Four pre-Independence silver bars bearing the stamp “H.M. Mint, Bombay 1945” each weighing 40 kgs and valued at Rs. 1.75 lakhs were recovered recently from the house of an unregistered pawnbroker in Madras by a special squad of the Central Excise Department.
