July 29 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump has reportedly asked the Supreme Court to overturn the $83.3 million judgment awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll after a jury found he defamed her by denying sexually abusing her in the 1990s.

President Donald Trump's attorneys argued to the Supreme Court that presidential immunity should toss the $83.3 million defamation judgment ordered to E. Jean Carroll.

The petition is the latest turn in Trump’s continued efforts to deny Carroll’s claims and avoid two separate monetary awards that juries ordered him to pay.
