The court in Arnhem convicted a 27-year-old man of 11 different crimes, including the sexual assault of a 34-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, and the violent rape and attempted manslaughter of an 87-year-old woman. The court sentenced the man to eight years in prison plus institutionalized psychiatric treatment (TBS). The Public Prosecution Service (OM) had recommended 13 years in prison plus TBS.
