Dutch gov't takes over regulation of real estate agents after consistent complaints
With some reluctance, Housing Minister Elanor Boekholt-O’Sullivan (D66) is stepping in to regulate real estate agents. Self-regulation has proved insufficient to prevent abuses like preferential treatment and driving up prices by playing buyers off against each other, as consistent complaints to the homeowners’ association VEH have shown.
