Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Jury selection got underway Monday in the trial for Ryan Routh, over his alleged assassination attempt against President Donald Trump in September 2024.

Ryan Routh has pleaded not guilty and plans to defend himself in court. The most serious charge against him carries a sentence of up to life in prison.

A court case for Mr Routh, who has pleaded not guilty, begins on Monday - with the defendant representing himself.
