The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that eight of its soldiers have been killed in combat with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Among the dead is Captain Eitan Yitzhak Oster, 22, a commander in the elite Egoz unit, which specialises in guerrilla warfare. Oster's death was confirmed by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Wednesday, alongside the deaths of seven more soldiers in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Hezbollah fighters engaged in clashes with Israeli soldiers who advanced into two border towns in southern Lebanon, killing eight Israeli soldiers and wounding five others, Hezbollah and Israeli Army reported Wednesday.
