Sonic Team confirms new Sonic the Hedgehog game in development with “unprecedented gameplay”

Japanese site 4Gamer recently had the opportunity to interview Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka who confirmed to the publication that a new Sonic the Hedgehog game is in development that will feature “unprecedented gameplay.” Sadly Mr. Iizuka couldn’t go into specifics on the new game but he did say that “there’s still plenty of room for the series to evolve.” Here’s what was said via machine translation:
