Diane Morgan's hit BBC 2 comedy Mandy is reportedly set to return next year.

According to TV Zone, series four is currently in pre-production and due to shoot in 2025.

The series sees Diane play Mandy - a jobless heroine who attempts to make a living in the modern gig economy and has been dubbed 'telly's ultimate bad influence'.

When she isn't seeing her career advisor, she is joined by her pal Lola (After Life's Michelle Greenidge), working in a nail salon.

But the humble life of keeping the local women looking glamorous isn't enough for Mandy and she regularly attempts and fails at multiple get-rich schemes.

Season one saw her working in a banana factory before she entered a line-dancing challenge and then eventually put her spare room up for rent on Airbnb

The next saw her work as a cleaner while she appeared on an episode of Who Do You Think You Are.

Series three followed her journey becoming an air hostess as she working in an abattoir and biscuit factory before she eventually saw the light and started becoming becoming herself.

And BBC viewers should expect hours of belly rolls as the last series attracted rave reviews.

Daily Mail's Christopher Stevens penned: 'This series of surreal 15-minute shorts, crammed with running jokes and visual allusions, is the most inspired comedy on screen right now.

'Written and directed by the star, it's part sitcom, part sketch show, revolving around our workshy heroine's exhausting efforts to get something for nothing — including benefits, when she can be bothered to turn up at the Job Centre.

'Tom Basden from Plebs plays her dole officer, constantly trying to bully her but collapsing when she snaps back at him.

'On her latest visit, she caught him trimming his moustache, with just a little blond toothbrush left under his nose like an adolescent Hitler.

'Nothing was said about it — this show is peppered with sight gags, such as the way Mandy walks leaning backwards, to counter her ludicrously high boot heels.'

A release date has not yet been confirmed for the new season but meanwhile Diane can be seen on screen on Monday December 30 in Cunk On Life.

Cunk On Life is a new special in which she plays ignorant documentary maker Philomena Cunk.

The funny presenter will leave fans in stitches with her dead pan delivery as she asks hard-hitting questions like 'What is a building?' to baffled experts.

The actress first debuted her alter-ego in 2013 while on the newsy British comedy series Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe.
