Super Mario Galaxy Is Getting an Unofficial PC Native Port

by · DSOGaming

PC gamers have been able to play Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 on PC through a Nintendo Wii emulator since 2016. Now, more than a decade later, the first SMG game will get a PC port. Yes, you read that right. An unofficial native PC port is coming soon. As such, this game will no longer need a Wii emulator to run on PC.

Created by Luma’s Workshop, this unofficial PC port is made by humans without the use of AI tools. It’s codenamed AstroCore, and it will be released soon.

Although we don’t have a specific ETA for when it will come out, its team released a trailer for it. This trailer showcases the game running on PC smoothly at 60 FPS.

What’s also cool here is that the Luma’s Workshop decompilation team will be moving to Super Mario Galaxy 2 after some cleanup work. So, one day, we will be able to play both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 natively on PC.

It’s also worth noting that these projects will not feature any in-game assets. As such, Nintendo will not be able to shut them down. This is exactly what’s been happening with all the recent PC recompilations, and why all of them are still available. So, fear not, everyone. Once they are out, these projects will be live for a long time.

In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.

Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. Earlier this month, we also got a PC port of F-Zero. And, since we’ve already gotten a few SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.

In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link,  WET, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, Super Mario Strikers, and Lost Odyssey.

And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Earlier this month, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin.  Finally, you can download the PC ports of Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 3, and Mario Kart Wii.

Stay tuned for more!
