Chelsea agree €36m Chalobah deal with Como
by Moronfolu Adeyemi · The Eagle OnlineChelsea has reached a verbal agreement with Italian side Como for the permanent transfer of defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The 26-year-old is now expected to travel to Italy to finalise the move after both clubs settled on the financial terms of the transfer.
According to The Sun, the agreement consists of a €30 million fixed fee, €6 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause.
The total package could therefore rise to €36 million, meeting the valuation Chelsea had placed on the England defender earlier in the summer.
Chalobah had attracted interest from clubs across Europe and the Premier League, but Como’s project under former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas emerged as his preferred option.
The defender is understood to have already agreed personal terms on a long-term contract with the Serie A club several weeks ago.
That agreement left Como and Chelsea to negotiate a transfer fee before a breakthrough was eventually reached.

The prospect of playing Champions League football was also a major attraction for Chalobah as he seeks regular first-team football in Italy.
Fabregas has been pushing to strengthen his defensive options with experienced players capable of contributing to his team’s build-up play, with Chalobah identified as a player who fits the profile.
The expected transfer will bring an end to Chalobah’s long association with Chelsea, having progressed through the club’s academy before establishing himself in the senior team.
He made 151 first-team appearances for the Blues after earlier loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield and Lorient.
Chalobah had remained a valued member of Chelsea’s squad, but the arrival of newer defensive options increased competition for regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.
His expected move to Como will now provide him with an opportunity to begin a new chapter in Serie A under Fabregas.
The switch would also see Chalobah follow other English defenders, including Fikayo Tomori and Chris Smalling, who have previously moved to Italian football.
