Norway, Morocco reach first World Cup quarter-finals

Norway produced one of the biggest upsets of the competition by defeating five-time champions Brazil 2-1 to book a historic place in the last eight.
The result represents Norway’s deepest-ever run at the FIFA World Cup and extends the country’s remarkable campaign.
Morocco also made history with a commanding 3-0 victory over Canada to secure a first-ever quarter-final appearance.
The North Africans’ progress further highlights their growing status in international football after another convincing display.
Switzerland also advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Colombia on penalties following a goalless draw.
Unlike Norway and Morocco, Switzerland are returning to familiar territory, having last reached the World Cup quarter-finals in 1954.
