Mysuru: With complying e-KYC process of ration cards made mandatory for all ration card holders including BPL and APL before Sept. 30, heavy rush was witnessed at Aadhaar Service Centre on Rama Vilas Road this morning with people lining up from 7 am in the morning waiting to complete their e-KYC formalities.

Since update of E-KYC of Family members of all ration card holders before Sept. 30 is made mandatory, people are standing in line to update their name, address and mobile numbers. People were seen waiting patiently for their turn with necessary documents of their family members.

Aadhaar Centre’s Senior Operation Officer Sanjana, who spoke to Star of Mysore, said that normally 300 to 350 come here to  complete e-KYC records. But of late, we are witnessing a considerable increase in numbers as about 500 to 600 persons are visiting the Centre daily. A duration of 20 minutes is required to update the e-KYC records of family members. While we charge Rs. 75 for mobile number update, we charge Rs. 150 for Bio-metric verifications, informed Sanjana.

e-KYC process links citizens Aadhaar card with their ration card to verify identity of all family members listed under PDS. This ensures that only eligible beneficiaries receive subsidised food grains and prevent fraud and duplicate entries.
