Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets couldn’t make it past the first round, despite being, in theory, contenders, and things might change in Denver.
Asked after the latest defeat to Minnesota, the Serb superstar was asked if that would be the case this summer.
As Jokic said, “That’s not my decision. Definitely, if we were in Serbia, we would all be fired.”
After all, despite Denver having an excellent regular season and being considered in the run for the championship title, the hard truth is different according to Jokic, who was asked how far the team is currently from being a contender: “We just lost in the first round. I think we are far away.”
The only good news for the Nuggets is that Jokic himself confirmed he is not considering leaving: “I still want to be a Nugget forever.”
Jokic also supported coach David Adelman: “It’s not his fault we couldn’t rebound. It’s not his fault we couldn’t catch the ball very well. There is nothing to blame David Adelman. It’s all us.”
