Victor Wembanyama’s impressive performance wasn’t enough for a win against the Knicks

Victor Wembanyama played his first Christmas NBA game and thrived in the festive atmosphere of Madison Square Garden, but it wasn’t enough for a victory.

The San Antonio Spurs fell short against the New York Knicks after an intense battle, losing 117-114.

The French sensation Wembanyama finished the game with 42 points, hitting six three-pointers, grabbing 18 rebounds, and blocking four shots. Jeremy Sochan followed with 21 points and nine rebounds.

For the winners, Mikal Bridges had a terrific game with 41 points, followed by Karl-Anthony Towns’ 21 points and nine rebounds. British swingman OG Anunoby added eight points as the Knicks improved to 20-10, while the Spurs fell to 15-15.
