The third round of this season's FA Cup is well underway after matches started on Thursday and will continue through to Tuesday night.

Sunderland host Championship rivals Stoke City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon in a bid to reach the fourth round of the competition. The last meeting between the two sides in the league ended in a 1-0 defeat for Regis Le Bris' men at the end of last month.

The Black Cats will be hoping for a different result this time around as they look to keep their FA Cup hopes alive. Liverpool, Fulham, Wolves and Aston Villa are among the clubs already qualified for the next round.

How to watch and listen to Sunderland vs Stoke City

32 matches will take place in the third round, but only 11 of those will be broadcast in the United Kingdom.

The BBC and ITV are the rights holders for the competition, with the BBC to show seven of the games across BBC One and iPlayer and ITV to broadcast the final four.

Sunderland's meeting with Stoke City was not selected for TV coverage and the 3pm kick-off means it also falls under the 3pm blackout.

Rules prohibit any games taking place at 3pm on a Saturday from being broadcast on UK television.

Instead, Sunderland supporters can catch highlights of the game shortly after the full-time whistle or listen to coverage on BBC Radio Newcastle with coverage starting from 2pm ahead of kick-off.

The game is being broadcast on BBC Sounds which, because it is a cup game, is allowed.

Restrictions prohibit the streaming of audio commentary via the BBC for Championship matches

Abroad, the match will not be shown on TV in the USA, but can be streamed on ESPN and the ESPN+ app.

In Australia, Optus Sport are the rights holders for the FA Cup this season and will provide coverage of the game.
