‘Between €25m and €30m’ – West Ham and Nottingham Forest presented straightforward deal

by · Sport Witness

Nottingham Forest and West Ham have previously tried to sign Jonathan David. The two Premier League clubs now have another chance in landing the centre forward.

Instead of a move to England, the Canadian joined Juventus for free in 2025. He became one of the Bianconeri’s highest-paid players but hasn’t lived up to the hype.

He has played over 2000 minutes in all competitions, scoring only seven times. While he has five assists to his name, his consistency has been missing.

His last Serie A goal came in early February, with Luciano Spalletti now not seeing him as a key player.

This is different from how things were in January. SportWitness covered Crystal Palace’s interest in him. The Eagles wanted the ex-Lille man in a potential swap for Jean-Philippe Mateta. However,  Spalletti saw David as an important player, rejecting Palace’s advances.

His perception has now changed. As a result, Juve are considering a summer sale, with West Ham and Nottingham Forest still in the mix.

David now out of Juve plans

Today, TuttoSport take a detailed look at the Canadian, whose exit from Turin is now increasingly possible.

Even if Spalletti was happy with David’s performance against Genoa, the striker isn’t in his long-term palns. In fact, Spalletti wants a full-blown revolution of the Juve squad this summer.

That’s why the Old Lady want ‘between €25m and €30m’ to sell David. There is interest from Lyon but the newspaper say Nottingham Forest or West Ham can still make moves for him.

There is confirmation the two English clubs tried to sign the 26-year-old in January. Forest’s failure led to them bringing in Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli.

The Italian has been a disappointment, which is why David could become an option ahead of next season.

It is believed that Juve’s demands are not prohibitive. They are keen on a straightforward sale, with the price tag very much reachable for West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Our take: David can be a good opportunity

Since Juve signed David for free, so stand to make a huge profit on the player.

Players who thrived in Ligue 1 have historically done quite well in England. David impressed at Lille and even if he has struggled in Italy, Juve aren’t the most stable at the moment.

That is why moving for him should appeal to West Ham and Nottingham Forest, who could land him on the cheap.
