‘Alarm bells ringing’ – West Ham emerge as ‘strong contender’ to sign €12.7m player

West Ham United are in the picture to sign Boca Juniors’ Milton Delgado.

That’s at least what El Intransigente are reporting, and they cover how West Ham can sign the 20-year-old in the winter market.

The defensive midfielder was part of the Argentina squad that lost the U20 World Cup final to Morocco in October. Since this tournament, he has featured regularly for Boca Juniors.

Delgado’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed in Europe and has attracted interest from several European clubs. West Ham have been added to this list.

It’s claimed Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have emerged as a ‘strong contender’ to sign the player. The report says that’s why the ‘alarm bells are ringing’ at the South American club.

As things stand, Boca Juniors haven’t received a formal offer from the Hammers or any other club. However, there’s expectation that a proposal ‘could be imminent’.

Delgado’s contract is until December 2028. El Intransigente report his release clause as of today is $15m [€12.7m] and Boca Juniors are looking for a similar amount to sanction his sale.

Earlier claims mentioned Brighton & Hove Albion as an interested party ahead of January.
