Crystal Palace and Hull City face Saudi competition for signing – €7-8m price

Crystal Palace have identified Trabzonspor’s Tim Jabol-Folcarelli as a target and face competition from Hull City to sign him.

The Eagles have already looked at Celtic’s Arne Engels. Last month, we relayed news that Crystal Palace wanted to beat Nottingham Forest to his signature. There’s been no development yet, even though there were expectations for the Reds to wrap up Engels’ signing quickly.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are focusing on Jabol-Folcarelli, who also interests Hull City and several other clubs.

Strong interest from Crystal Palace and Hull City

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who claim a ‘major transfer is on the cards’ for the 26-year-old this summer.

The Frenchman joined Trabzonspor from AC Ajaccio in February 2025, after spending his entire playing career in his home country.

After overcoming form and fitness concerns in the first few months, Tim Jabol-Folcarelli was a regular for the Turkish club last season, making 32 appearances.

The midfielder has returned to the Süper Lig side for the pre-season, while his agents are working on his exit.

Trabzonspor, who are resisting parting ways with him, have set a price of €7-8m. He earns a ‘very substantial salary’, without the outlet mentioning a figure.

The high salary is making it complicated for clubs to sign the player. Several clubs from France, where OGC Nice made a concrete approach, Spain and the MLS cannot match his current wages.

As of now, the most intense approaches are coming from England, where both Crystal Palace and Hull City are keen. Tigers owner Acun ılıcalı appreciates the player’s profile.

It’s possible the Premier League duo may not have an issue with Jabol-Folcarelli’s salary.  That would also be the case for Al-Taawoun, who have made an approach to sign him on loan with an option to buy.

Player needs convincing 

Crystal Palace and Hull City haven’t made concrete advances yet, while the Saudi club have submitted an offer.

The two English clubs have to act quickly and convince the player to continue in Europe, to stand a chance to sign him.

Hs salary and €7-8m price is unlikely to be an issue for the Eagles and Sergej Jakirović’s side.
