Tottenham interested in multiple Como players and may have found one they can get
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessTottenham Hotspur have previously been interested in Como’s Martin Baturina and are in the picture to sign another player from the Italian side.
Cesc Fabregas saw his club pick up a very impressive 4-1 win over Manchester United this week. While Baturina played in that game, Nico Paz was the star of the show. Sport Witness have covered the Argentine’s previous links with a move to Spurs too, but Como rejected the approach firmly.
The Argentine grabbed a brace and it came as a defining performance for the attacking midfielder. He is one of the many players who have grown significantly at the lakeside club, along with Baturina.
Another Como player is now on Tottenham’s radar.
Da Cunha’s situation gaining traction
Tuttomercatoweb note that the player in question is Lucas Da Cunha, who is now a France international. He starred for Les Bleus during the recent international break, doing well against Italy.
The outlet report that he is one of those attracting most attention at Como. His rise has been key to that, with several clubs having scouted him in recent months.
Tottenham are one and they have Da Cunha on their radar. Brentford are also in the chase and there is a chance the two clubs could’ve monitored him against Manchester United.
Signing him from Como will be quite complicated. The report explains that, as it will be difficult to convince the Frenchman to leave anytime soon.
Our take: Spurs clearly alert
The amount of Como players that Tottenham have been linked with does indicate that the London club are monitoring the Italian side. That is indeed a smart thing to do, as Fabregas has coached them very well and their technical floors are quite high.
As far as Da Cunha is concerned, his current deal runs out in 2031. That will complicate things for Roberto De Zerbi’s side, especially if the 25-year-old needs to be convinced about an exit.
Beyond that, the Frenchman will be a great fit for Tottenham. He has wandof a left foot and can play as a number eight or number six. Spurs could still lose Lucas Bergvall at some point and Da Cunha can come in as a replacement, especially if the London side qualify for Europe.
