Talks ongoing to seal Leicester City exit – Player keen, wants Foxes departure

by · Sport Witness

Boubakary Soumare had been a regular for Leicester City before he fell to a knee injury.

Due to that fitness setback, the Frenchman hasn’t featured in the Championship since late November. He had racked up two assists before he picked up the injury and also played 31 times in the Premier League last season.

With Soumare’s Leicester City contract running out in the summer, uncertainty is growing over his future.

TuttoSport – relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, report that the midfielder wants to leave the Foxes and has expressed his transfer desire to the club already.

He is now seen as an attractive opportunity by Torino, who want to sign him this month. There’s confidence in Turin that given the player’s transfer desire and contract situation, a deal can easily be done.

Torino will want a bargain, although no figures are shared in the report.

The newspaper further claim that Soumare has told Leicester City that he wants to join Torino, who want to improve their midfield. This will play in the favour of Marco Baroni’s side.

The Turin club are in talks with Soumare’s entourage already and negotiations are ongoing over a three-and-a-half year contract. Leicester City’s demands are currently unknown but the player’s desire will play a key role in driving the move.

Soumare has previously been linked with both AS Roma and Sevilla, all with a view to January or the summer.
