“You get wiser with age” – Leeds United linked manager ready for mid-season move

Leeds United risk dropping to the Championship just a season after securing promotion.

The Premier League side have four league wins from 16 matches. They are currently 17th in the table, three points above 18th placed West Ham United.

Leeds United have picked up five points from their last three matches. Prior to that, Daniel Farke’s future at Elland Road was questioned. Bo Svensson was pushed forward as an option for Leeds United. He’s been without a job since leaving Union Berlin in December 2024.

On November 25th, Berliner Zeitung reported Union Berlin will have to pay the Dane until the end of this season. Therefore, he’s not in a rush to join a new club.

Although Leeds United’s results have improved in recent weeks, Bold mentions the English club. They name the Whites, Sparta Prague, Malmö FF, Rapid Wien, Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Royale Union Saint-Gilloise as possible options.

Speaking to Bold, the 46-year-old has responded to reports linking him to Leeds United and others. He has confirmed approaches, without going into the details.

“I’ve had some opportunities, but nothing that has led to a contract yet. I currently have nothing concrete to say about,” he said.

“I’ll definitely be a football coach again. And in that regard, I have no restrictions in terms of which league I want to go to. Geography won’t be decisive.”

The coach spent less than six months at Union Berlin but learnt a lot from that short spell. Taking this experience into account, he now has certain conditions to join a new club.

“My next job should be at a club where we fit together. Things have to be agreed in advance. So yes, I have to do some thorough preparation before I sign. You get wiser with age,” Svensson explained.

Bold asked whether he’s ready to jump straight away or will he wait until the end of the season.

“Of course, it’s not all up to me. I see no problem in taking up a job midway through a season. I’ve tried that before,” he added.

“But again, things have to fit together. The things we agree on in advance, all parties have to live up to.”

There’s unlikely to be a change in Farke’s position if Leeds United extend their recent good run. If not, Bo may want to watch his phone.
