‘Making it very difficult’ – Manchester United man winning transfer debate, keeps impressing
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessMarcus Rashford is ‘making it very difficult’ for Barcelona not to sign him on a permanent basis from Manchester United this summer.
That’s according to AS. They report that the forward is ‘making things difficult’ for the Catalan side regarding his future.
He is currently the only player in the Barcelona squad to have scored in all three competitions this season, with goals in the Copa del Rey, La Liga and the Champions League. He has seven in all competitions to date, alongside 11 assists. He’s one of the forwards with the most goal involvements in the squad.
Those figures are helping him in his ‘fight to convince’ Barcelona sporting director Deco to sign him permanently. He was third choice for the Portuguese boss this summer, behind Luis Diaz and Nico Williams.
They’ve not regretted that as Rashford has been delivering, either as a starter or a substitute. But they’re yet to make a decision about his future.
Deco has made it clear it’s too early to green light the €30m spend to sign him permanently. In fact, he is convinced that they can hold negotiations to bring that figure down.
But Rashford is ‘making it very difficult’ for them to not at least enter those negotiations. Hansi Flick is delighted with his performances and his attitude. And he’s also performing on the pitch as well, with decent numbers to say the least. Flick is certainly in favour of keeping him.
The Manchester United loanee is also integrating himself more and more into the squad and the city. This has not gone unnoticed by those above him. He certainly doesn’t want to return to Manchester United.
If he wants to stay at Barcelona, he needs to keep fighting on the pitch. But so far, he’s making it difficult for Barcelona not to sign him permanently.
