Chelsea ‘recently made strong push’ for signing – Young attacker highly sought after
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessMarseille’s Saïd Remadnia has been on Chelsea‘s radar for most part of this season.
The Premier League side have already made moves to try and sign the 17-year-old.
In December, Sport Witness relayed news of Chelsea meeting his agent over a potential deal and also carrying out advanced negotiations.
Later that month, we relayed news that Marseille sporting director Medhi Benatia decided to take swift action, after the Blues made advances. The Ligue 1 side are keen to retain him after the west London club’s pressure intensified.
The winger joined Marseille on a free transfer in 2019 after a short spell at another French club, SC Air Bel Jugend.
He made his way into Marseille U17 side in 2024 and then to their U19s a year later. The teenager has been with the latter this season and is yet to make his first team debut.
His stats with Marseille U19s are as follows:
- Appearances: 16
- Starts: 14
- Total minutes: 1,259
- Goals: 4
- Assists: 0
Chelsea attempt for signing
Despite being so young, he has caught the attention of several clubs. That’s according to RMC Sport, who state Saïd Remadnia is highly sought after in the market.
Chelsea are the only club to get a mention as the Premier League side have tried to sign him. The Blues ‘recently made a strong push’ to secure his services.
However, the Marseille-born attacker has made a decision to commit his future to the Ligue 1 side.
The report states he’s signed a ‘trainee contract’ with the French club despite interest from elsewhere and uncertainty at Marseille.
Both Roberto De Zerbi and president Pablo Longoria have already left while Medhi Benatia will leave at the end of the season.
Chelsea could return in future
Two months ago, Saïd Remadnia turned 17 years of age, and due to Brexit, he can’t move to the UK until he’s 18.
If Chelsea had signed him, he would have had to wait until the summer of 2027 to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
Should he impress over the next year, the Blues could return for him.
