‘Offers are expected’ for Newcastle United player – Magpies sale nailed on

by · Sport Witness

Odysseas Vlachodimos was limited to one appearance for Newcastle United last season. In search of regular game time, he joined Sevilla on a season-long loan deal in August.

The goalkeeper has featured regularly since making his debut for Sevilla in September. He’s kept three clean sheets and conceded 20 goals from 14 matches so far.

The Newcastle United owned player has said on two occasions this month that he’s happy in Spain.

Two days ago, Orgullo Biri reported the 31-year-old’s entourage has indicated he’s keen on extending his stay with the La Liga side.

Thursday’s edition of AS says the stopper is currently one of the key players for manager, Matías Almeyda.

The Andalusian club ‘would love’ to retain him after his loan spell, but AS state he’s less likely to stay with each impressive performance.

As things stand, the Greece international has to return to Newcastle United, where he has a contract until 2028. The report claims it’s ‘quite clear he won’t stay there’ and ‘offers are expected’ to arrive for Vlachodimos.

Sevilla are going through a delicate financial situation. The newspaper insists they would find it difficult to sign him permanently because of his high salary and the transfer fee. Eddie Howe’s side are covering part of his salary during his loan stay with Sevilla.

Transfermarkt values Vlachodimos at €4m, but AS are certain Newcastle United will ask for much more than that.

Sevilla want to retain him but can’t afford to buy the Greek. There are expectations that offers will arrive and Vlachodimos’ future beyond this season will be away from the Magpies.
