Liverpool target Francisco Conceição

Manchester United and Liverpool have Juventus’ Francisco Conceição on their agenda for the summer.

His performances for the Serie A side have seen both Manchester United and Liverpool take notice.

Juve signed the winger from FC Porto for €32m in July 2025, after he managed 11 goals and 13 assists from 93 matches for the Dragons.

Since moving to Italy, he scored four goals and contributed four assists from 38 matches

His Serie A stats this season are as follows:

  • Appearances: 27
  • Starts: 23
  • Total minutes: 1,796
  • Goals: 3
  • Assists: 4
  • Expected Goals: 5.91
  • Expected Assists: 4.01
  • Key passes per game: 1.1
  • Shots on target per game: 0.7
  • Big chances created: 4
  • Big chances missed: 8

On March 27th, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of the Reds making first contact for the right winger. Arne Slot’s side are looking for a right winger to replace Mohamed Salah, who will leave Anfield after this season.

Manchester United and Liverpool in mix

Gazzetta dello Sport say he has caught Liverpool and the Red Devils attention even though his goals and assists tally isn’t that impressive.

The Merseyside club view the Portugal international’s profile as similar to Mohamed Salah.

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has previously managed the Egyptian at AS Roma. On compression between the Liverpool star and Francisco Conceição, he said: “The comparison is correct.”

“He’s a young lad, he still has a lot of experience to gain, he needs to convince himself that he can play inside a bit, and having a man behind him shouldn’t make him anxious. If he receives the ball on the outside and faces you, however, he becomes unmarkable.”

“He needs to improve his shot quality, because Salah is top-notch, but Conceiçao has this intensity and ferocity in one-on-one situations that makes him really difficult to keep up with.”

Manchester United now join Liverpool in the race for the current Juve attacker. After their 2-1 win over Brentford, the Old Trafford club are third, 11 points ahead of sixth placed Brighton & Hove Albion.

Michael Carrick’s side are likely to return to the Champions League and are expected to improve their attack. Gazzetta state the 23-year-old can be an option.

Juventus still have €25.6m of the fee to amortise. Therefore, the Old Lady won’t start any negotiations below ‘current budget’ of €25.6m.

Gazzetta believe a fee around €45-50m is needed to convince Juve and it could rise if he were to shine at the World Cup.
