Randal Kolo Muani: Tottenham twist as Spurs return pushed
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessRandal Kolo Muani’s loan spell at Tottenham didn’t go well. But he could yet return to the club this summer.
The Frenchman’s abilities weren’t seen often in the Premier League. He scored once and was often frustrating with his deliveries, especially when he was utilised in wide areas.
Things were better in the Champions League, as he scored four times, also adding two assists.
Juventus, who tried to sign him last summer and then in January, continue to pursue his signature. Sport Witness have covered how even Crystal Palace have made initial contact for him, with Paris Saint-Germain keen to part ways.
The possibility of a surprise return to Tottenham is now edged forward.
De Zerbi behind it
Today’s TuttoSport reports there is an agreement over personal terms between Juve and Kolo Muani. The player is keen on moving back to Turin, having enjoyed his spell under Igor Tudor during the 2024/25 campaign.
PSG’s demands continue to cause problems for the Bianconeri. They remain insistent on wanting €40m for the Frenchman, which is proving too much for the Old Lady.
During the latest contacts between the clubs, Juve made it clear that the most they can offer is €37m including bonuses. Even if the player remains desperate for the move, patience is running thin at both clubs.
This is giving rise to the possibility of other clubs joining the race. The newspaper are sure that soon, Kolo Muani himself will start looking around for options.
‘Offers have landed’ for him from England. Tottenham are in the hunt and Roberto De Zerbi would be interested in bringing him back.
This time around, the London club are very unlikely to get a loan deal. PSG would like an initial loan with an obligation to buy and are waiting for clubs to take action.
Spurs should look for better
The way last season was, Tottenham should be in the market for better options. If anything, Kolo Muani has always been more of a central striker and Spurs are on the hunt for a wide player. That is probably why Rafael Leao has emerged as a target.
However, there is every chance the Frenchman can impress at his next club. His time at Juve showed he is far better playing centrally in a two upfront system and that is what he needs now.
