Leeds United ready to enter race for Wolves midfielder – £35m bid aligns with demands

Wolves have already made a clear decision on André’s future, and Leeds United might be part of it.

Relegation to the Championship has forced a rethink at Molineux. Wolves want to protect the value of their key assets, and André is one of the most obvious candidates for a sale.

The Brazilian has remained one of the team’s most consistent performers, which makes this the right moment to move.

At the same time, André has regained prominence in the European market. Despite the team’s struggles, his individual level has kept him firmly on the radar. As a result, he is now expected to be involved in another high-value transfer this summer.

As previously reported, Wolves are working with a valuation between €30m and €40m (£26m-£35m). There is already interest from across Europe, including a renewed push from Juventus, who tried to sign him in January.

Now, a new contender has entered the race.

Leeds United move adds new layer

Now virtually safe from relegation, Leeds United are considering a bid for André, according to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte. The English club are studying an offer worth £35m (€40m), which would place them firmly in line with Wolves’ expectations.

Leeds view André as an ideal midfield addition. His ability to recover possession and progress the ball fits the profile they are targeting this summer.

The move is also linked to their wider midfield rebuild, with the club actively searching for balance and reliability in that area.

That interest also reflects his performances in England. Despite Wolves’ struggles, André has shown tactical discipline and reliability. Over time, he has grown into a trusted and dependable figure within the squad, which has only increased his appeal.

Leeds United are not alone. Interest from multiple clubs is expected to push the price upwards, strengthening Wolves’ position in negotiations and potentially inflating the final fee.

Financial angle and profit clause

André’s former club Fluminense are also watching closely. They hold 10% of the profit from any future sale.

A deal at £35m (€40m) could therefore generate around £3.5m (€4m) for the Brazilian side. However, as this would be a domestic transfer, there would be no FIFA solidarity payment involved. So the Rio de Janeiro club will be hoping for a move elsewhere – maybe Juventus or Napoli.

Of course Wolves want to act quickly, and the growing number of interested clubs strengthens their position.

Leeds United’s emergence adds competition, but this race is not expected to last long. Wolverhampton need to reinvest for the Championship, and avoid losing leverage as the window progresses.
