Arsenal player ‘unlikely to leave’ in January – 2 sources state Gunners have no intention of transfer

Jakub Kiwior has played less than 100 minutes in the Premier League for Arsenal this season.

He’s made only two starts in all competitions and both of those have come in the Carabao Cup, as the Polish defender fell down the Arsenal pecking order after the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori.

Even last season, Kiwior played less than 1000 minutes in the Premier League and he’s been linked with a move back to Italy for many months.

It now seems as if the defender will have to stay at Arsenal for the rest of the season, with TuttomercatoWeb reporting yesterday that the 24-year-old is ‘unlikely to leave’ in January.

The same information is shared by experienced journalist Ciro Venerato in his chat with Televomero, as relayed by TuttoNapoli. The journalist is confident the ex-Spezia player will not leave the Emirates on a loan deal.

TMW provide more details, saying that the Gunners’ current asking price is over €20m and they do not want to loan him out in the winter transfer window. Mikel Arteta is keen on keeping Kiwior, as he’s seen as a back-up to Gabriel Magalhaes.

The report mentions that in the summer transfer window, Bologna and Inter Milan came forward for the player but a move never materialised. Juventus are not interested and AC Milan were only looking at him until December 2023.

Both Fiorentina and Napoli have asked for information but they have received negative responses and the feeling in Italy is that a January loan deal for Kiwior is out of the realms of possibility.
