Farke not giving up on getting player for Leeds United – €35m and rising

Leeds United continue to chase VfB Stuttgart’s Ermedin Demirović, after looking at him in the summer.

The striker joined the German club from SC Freiburg in 2024 and has 36 goals and 11 assists from 92 matches.

Last season, he managed 15 goals and five assists, and Leeds United wanted to secure his services in the summer.

Demirović has started this season on a bright note with four goals from five matches and that includes a hat-trick in VfB Stuttgart’s 3-1 Champions League win over Viking. This has seen him attract interest from several clubs, including the Whites.

Leeds United to provide tough competition 

Tutto Juve update Leeds United’s interest in the 28-year-old. The Premier League side’s interest in the striker gets a mention in a report focusing on Juventus’ desire to sign him.

The Serie A side have sent their scouts to watch him live this season. The Old Lady didn’t initiate contact with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s camp or his club so far.

It won’t be easy for Juve because of the ‘intense competition’ from Leeds United, AC Milan and Galatasaray.

In addition to the tough battle with several clubs, the Turin club are also facing the price hurdle. Demirović has a contract until 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €22m. However, the German club are asking for at least €35m and won’t offer a discount.

A potential approach from Luciano Spalletti’s side also depends on their own results and how their current strikers will perform at least until the end of this year.

Leeds United continue to chase target 

In July, Sport Witness covered a report from Bosnia that the Elland Road club were ‘very keen’ on signing him. Stuttgart were open to a sale had Leeds United tabled a convincing offer. At that time, his value was €30m.

It’s unclear why the Whites didn’t make further advances in the summer and Tutto Juve now add Daniel Farke’s side are still ‘pursuing him’.

However, the operation remains difficult for Leeds United because of the competition and the €5m rise in his price. That can increase further if more clubs were to join the race to sign the attacker.

There’s also a possibility of using the Elland Road club to drive up the price.
