Tottenham ‘go all out’ to beat Arsenal for big signing – De Zerbi urges Spurs to accelerate
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessTottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all fighting to sign AFC Bournemouth‘s Eli Junior Kroupi this summer.
The striker finished his debut season at Bournemouth with 13 goals from 1,683 minutes from 33 league matches.
His performances for Bournemouth have seen a few clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal and PSG, take notice.
Last month, Sport Witness relayed news that the Cherries’ €100m price doesn’t scare the Gunners and PSG.
Tottenham boss wants Bournemouth star
Wednesday’s edition of Sport claims Barcelona have the 20-year-old as an alternative to Atlético Madrid’s Julián Alvarez.
The La Liga winners will only make advances for Eli Junior Kroupi if a deal for Alvarez is no longer feasible.
Bournemouth have insisted he’s not for sale, but his suitors believe the Cherries want to make a profit from his sale.
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, PSG and the Blaugrana are all keen and Spurs are the most persistent among them.
Roberto De Zerbi is ‘enthusiastic’ about this operation and is urging his side to accelerate negotiations.
Therefore, Spurs are ‘determined to go all out’, to beat Arsenal and others to sign the Frenchman.
Bournemouth player’s decision key
His contract lasts until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €70m. The Premier League side want to retain Eli Junior Kroupi and offer him a new contract.
However, the ‘player’s wish will prevail’ and is key for a potential summer move.
He would be happy to join Hansi Flick’s side, but the latter will only make advances if they give up on signing Julián Alvarez.
The La Liga winners are aware of the need to spend big considering Tottenham Hotspur and PSG would be willing to offer close to €100m.
Barca believe PSG have their attack covered and are unlikely to make advances. Arsenal are also keen on Kroupi but don’t have the same urgency as the Camp Nou side to sign a striker.
If the player is in a hurry to leave Bournemouth, Sport suspects he could opt for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Spurs haven’t qualified for Europe next season. The other three clubs, who won their respective leagues, will play in the Champions League.
