‘Unpresentable and unbearable” – Things not looking great after Tottenham and Newcastle United exits

Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade found new clubs this summer after seasons at Tottenham and Newcastle United. But things haven’t improved for them yet.

The Frenchman was a long-term target for Juventus, who had him on loan in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign. They finally roped him in from Paris Saint-Germain but he is yet to score even once in four games.

Woltemade has featured for only two games, coming off the bench against AC Milan and Sassuolo. He is yet to make a mark, with Sport Witness having tracked how his time in Turin has been so far. There have been suggestions he might need some tactical adaptation to fit in.

Now, both of them are facing criticism in the Italian media.

Juve legend not a fan

Bianconeri legend Michelangelo Rampulla spoke to TMWRadio about Juve’s dramatic 3-2 loss to Sassuolo. They conceded a stoppage time winner at the hands of loanee Vasilije Adzic.

Rampulla was asked about the ex-Tottenham player and Newcastle United loanee. He didn’t hold back in his criticism of the duo.

The Italian said  – via Calciomercato: “Woltemade made a negative impression on me. He missed an incredible header but I hope they give him time and minutes, let’s play him and see if he starts to perform.”

While the criticism for Woltemade was measured, the same isn’t true for Kolo Muani.

“Kolo Muani, on the other hand, is now a clear problem and Spalletti must find a solution, because he’s unpresentable and unbearable.”

Our take: Juve have bigger problems

It is fair to say that Kolo Muani struggled at Tottenham, scoring just once in the Premier League. At Newcastle United, Woltemade didn’t have a pleasant first season and was often used out of position. But Juve have far bigger problems, with their midfield in tatters due to injuries.

Beyond that, the team is lacking an identity under Luciano Spalletti. There is no real plan, which has been an issue for Juve after their glorious period of domination.

Pinning it down to only two players – who are new signings, won’t help. The duo need time and there is every chance they improve in the next few weeks.
