Player takes ‘step forward’ with Tottenham exit – Partly because of the food

Radu Dragusin finally returned to Italy from Tottenham in the summer. The player has now been backed to turn things around at Fiorentina.

In January, it was clear the Romania international was wanted in Serie A. AS Roma and AC Milan wanted to land him but a deal never went through.

Over time, desperation grew and Tottenham let him leave on a loan with an obligation to buy.

Things haven’t started well though, he struggled in the first three games, leading to Fabio Grosso getting sacked. He was much better in the win over Venezia, which was the first three points of the season for La Viola.

Player a talking point in Romania

Dragusin has been backed to change his fortunes in his home country.

Former Romania international Dorin Goian has now spoken to DigiSport about the Tottenham loanee.

He expressed belief that Dragusin has made a step forward by joining Fiorentina.

“He chose Fiorentina, a team with history in Italy. I think Radu Dragusin made the right decision and it’s a step forward in his career. He’ll play much more here.”

Goian is sure that Florence, as a city offers him everything needed to make a mark.

“Florence is a beautiful city and I think this transfer already suits him. The food is better than in England, the weather is very nice, so he has everything he needs there.”

The ex-Serie A player is certain the centre-back will get better and better.

“Serie A, even if it is no longer at the best level of the last 10-15 years, remains Serie A, one of the best championships in the world.”

“I repeat, it is a step forward, he has reached Fiorentina and is playing match by match. He will do it better and better”

Player should get things on track

With Paolo Vanoli, Fiorentina are likely to turn their fortunes around. He did the same in the second half of last season and he helped them stay away from relegation.

The win over Venezia was promising and Dragusin should start regularly too. Playing in a stable setup will really help him, as that helped him thrive at Genoa too.

So with every game, things should look brighter.
