La Liga club make contact for Aston Villa player – Decision to make on transfer
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessValencia have made enquiries about Aston Villa defender Andrés García ahead of the summer, after previously asking about him in the January transfer window.
According to COPE, the Spanish side have contacted García’s representatives to enquire about his situation at Aston Villa.
Valencia’s right-back problem
The Spanish outlet reports that Valencia have a problem at right-back. It’s been a problem are for years, and they intend to resolve it in the summer.
They’ve had to resolve to stopgap issues in the last few windows. But now they want a long-term solution and García is in their sights.
Cadena COPE report that the 22-year-old Aston Villa defender is someone who interests the Spanish side considerably. His name was already on the table in January, but Aston Villa ruled out the possibility of a move.
Unai Emery has continued to insist the defender is a part of his plans since then. But the reality is that García has barely featured under him, and a summer exit seems likely.
Inevitable loan desire
Valencia’s intention for the summer would be to find a loan agreement with Aston Villa. That could be ideal situation for all parties.
They did similar with Enzo Barrenechea last season.
Valencia would get the full-time solution that they’re looking for, without spending money that they don’t have. Aston Villa would loan out Andrés García to a club who would use him and get him experience in a top five league.
And García would get the regular playing time he can’t get at Aston Villa. He would also get a move back to his homeland. He was born in Valencia and previously starred for Levante.
It could very much be a win, win, win. The question is whether Aston Villa sanction it. Having already turned down the approach in January, they certainly weren’t keen on the idea this year.
But it seems Valencia fancy their chances in the summer and have already started talking to García’s agents in the hopes of making something happen.
