Manchester United target Breno Bidon impresses in cup final – More clubs join the race

Manchester United remain one of the clubs monitoring Breno Bidon, but the race for the Corinthians midfielder has gained new layers in recent days. Atlético Madrid continue to circle, while Portugal’s Sporting have now emerged as another serious contender ahead of January.

Reports in Brazil suggest Bidon’s recent display in a big cup final against Vasco has caught fresh attention in Europe. The 20-year-old impressed in a high-pressure setting, which reinforced the belief that he has the profile many European clubs look for in young midfielders.

He ended his 2025 season being a key player in both Corinthians’ titles – the State Championship in March and the Brazilian Cup last Sunday.

Sporting are the newest name to enter the picture. The Portuguese side have followed Bidon for some time and could move if Hidemasa Morita leaves the club. That potential opening in midfield may push Sporting to act during the next window.

Manchester United and others told €20m is key

Atlético Madrid already tested the waters earlier in the year. Journalist Jorge Nicola revealed that the Spanish club discussed a potential offer worth €18m, although talks did not progress at the time. Corinthians made it clear they would only negotiate closer to €20m, and the player stayed in Brazil.

Manchester United have also tracked Bidon closely, as previously reported. While the Premier League club have yet to make a formal move, their interest places them among a growing list of European sides watching developments.

Bidon remains under contract at Corinthians until December 2029, with a €100m release clause. As January approaches, contacts from abroad look inevitable, and the next steps around one of Brazil’s most watched midfielders will soon become clearer.
