30% Manchester City clause looking wise – Blues can soon cash in big-time
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessMaximo Perrone is having an impressive season at Como, which is good news for Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side now stand to benefit from his future sale.
So far this season, the Argentine has made 27 Serie A appearances, featuring for over 2000 minutes. He also has two goals and four assists, with Como currently in a Champions League spot. The youngster has impressed quite a bit with his ability to dictate play from deep.

Perrone joined the lakeside club permanently from Manchester City in the summer after an initial loan spell went well.
The 23-year-old’s performances are now attracting a lot of attention and this is going to help the Citizens in the future.
Manchester City have big sell-on clause
Corriere dello Sport report today that Maximo Perrone is emerging as a major target for Inter Milan, who are likely to part ways with Hakan Calhanoglu.
There are also doubts about Davide Frattesi, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan also past his best.
That is why Perrone is seen as an effective way to restructure midfield and reduce its average age.
Como are likely to pose problems over a deal. A big reason for that is Manchester City’s sell-on clause of 30%, which is pushing Cesc Fabregas’ side to demand a high fee for the midfielder.
Perrone was signed for only €13m in the summer and his value as now at least doubled.
Only a significant offer will shatter Como’s resistance and they’re no strangers to demanding massive fees anyway.
Napoli are also keen on the player, who can become a subject of widespread interest in the summer.
Deal paying off for Manchester City
Everything suggests that Guardiola’s side did an excellent job with Maximo Perrone. They loaned him out to clubs that helped with his development and sensed the right opportunity to let him leave.
If any club pays €40m for the Argentine, Manchester City can now stand to earn around €9m from the deal. That is quite a decent amount for a player who doesn’t even play for them. Besides that, Perrone made only two senior appearances for the Citizens.
That – in itself, is a fine indication of the job done. Italian teams generally don’t pay permanent fees to other clubs in Serie A. It won’t be a surprise if Inter or Napoli attempt initial loans but Manchester City would hope suitors make permanent offers soon.
What would be even better is Perrone’s value growing further until 2027, and Manchester City getting a bigger chunk then.
