Liverpool player can be ‘most interesting name’ for January – 3 clubs waiting to pounce
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessLiverpool‘s Federico Chiesa could be on his way out of Anfield and return to Italy in January where he’s not short of options.
The Italy international has had a disappointing spell since joining the Premier League side from Juventus in 2024.
He finished his debut season with two goals and two assists from 466 minutes from 14 matches. Last season, the winger had three goals and three assists from Liverpool from 36 matches.
Andoni Iraola has left him out of his core plans as Chiesa is yet to make an appearance this season.
Liverpool man attracting Italy interest
Last month, Sport Witness covered a report from Italy explaining that the Merseyside club will put him up on the market in January. Earlier this week, we relayed news of Inter Milan as an option for the 28-year-old.
The Nerazzurri aren’t alone as Tutto Juve reports Lazio and Atalanta are also keen. These three clubs continue to monitor Federico Chiesa, who could leave Liverpool after this year.
Although the trio are keen, there’s no development. In short, his suitors haven’t opened negotiations with his camp or Andoni Iraola’s side so far.
Inter, Lazio and Atalanta are waiting to find out whether Liverpool are ready to business in the winter market. If yes, they also like to know the conditions to sign the attacker.
The outlet states: ‘There’s no deal yet, but January could transform Chiesa into one of the most interesting names on the Italian market.’

No future at Liverpool
Liverpool failed to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace star Ismaïla Sarr in the summer.
Gambian journalist Foday Manneh told Sport Witness that the Reds are likely to return for Minteh in the next window.
Even if Liverpool don’t sign a new attacker, Federico Chiesa will continue to struggle for regular game time at Anfield. His contract runs down in 2028.
The failure to make an appearance this season is a sign he has no future under Andoni Iraola. It would be best for him and Liverpool to part ways in January. Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta are waiting to pounce if there’s a green light for the transfer.
