Monday medical – Nottingham Forest transfer ‘not in jeopardy’ despite Dyche decision

by · Sport Witness

Eintracht Frankfurt are working on a move for Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo in the winter market.

On New Year’s Eve, Bild reported the German club have made progress in their talks with the striker’s agent. They also said their sporting director, Markus Krösche, will hold more talks with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Two days later, Frankfurter Rundschau indicated Eintracht Frankfurt were optimistic of sealing the loan operation last week.

Kalimuendo is still at Nottingham Forest, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend. Sean Dyche brought him off the bench in the 83rd minute against the Villans.

Sky Deutschland now report the ‘deal is not in jeopardy’ despite Dyche’s decision to hand out minutes last Saturday.

He’ll join the Bundesliga side on loan [€1.5m loan fee] with a €27m purchase option. The German club are expected to carry out the Nottingham Forest player’s medical tests today.

Bild echoes Sky’s claim. They report the 23-year-old will join Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of this season on loan for €1.5m, with an option to buy set at €27m.

The deal to take Kalimuendo to Germany has been finalised. According to Bild, he’s ‘scheduled to undergo a medical’ with Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday.
