On Monday morning, Tuttomercatoweb made it clear that AC Milan are in the final stages of a move for West Ham’s Niclas Füllkrug.

An initial loan deal with the option to buy was about to go through, with Milan pushing to close the deal as quickly as they can.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that the German could fly to Milan between Monday evening and tomorrow. The West Ham agreement i s taken as almost done, and there’s efforts to get things finalised before Christmas.

Initially, the Rossoneri’s goal was to have the German ready for their clash against Genoa on January 8th. Now they want him in the squad for the game on January 2nd against Cagliari.

January 2nd is the first day for registering new signings in Serie A. Regulations stated that players who are registered on that day can’t play on the same date. After an appeal, Serie A have now relented.

AC Milan and others argued that given they play on January 2nd, it wasn’t fair. That’s in comparison to clubs who have their scheduled Serie A round matches after that date.

That’s why Füllkrug’s debut could now be against Cagliari. This will be a positive for Max Allegri’s side, with Santi Gimenez out for the next two months.

The Germany international is on the verge of completing a brilliant move for himself. After struggling at West Ham, a title challenge with AC Milan sounds like a dream.
