Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been linked with Breno Bidon in recent months – and the Corinthians midfielder has now openly admitted that playing in the Champions League is part of his long-term ambition.

TNT Sports Brazil published a quick interview in which the 20-year-old made his European dream crystal clear. While there is no defined timeline, the direction of travel is obvious.

“I do dream about playing in Europe. It has been a dream since I was a kid – to play in Europe, to play in the Champions League, to play, like I said, in a World Cup. It has been a dream since I was young. I do have that desire. I do not know when the moment will come, but I do have that desire to play abroad,” he said

Chelsea were the only club reported to have tested Corinthians’ resolve with an offer. Reports in Brazil claimed the proposal stood at around €20m (£17m), well below the club’s expectations.

Arsenal and Manchester United have both made enquiries. However, neither has moved beyond information-gathering.

At the same time, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Wolverhampton have also been credited with monitoring the midfielder. Their involvement remains at scouting level rather than negotiation stage.

Corinthians have reportedly set their internal valuation far higher. Some outlets in Brazil claim they would only open talks at figures closer to €30m (£25.5m), while others suggest demands could rise towards €35m-40m (£30m-£34m) depending on structure and bonuses.

Timing remains the decisive factor

Despite the European noise, Corinthians continue to favour a summer exit at the earliest. Club officials have repeatedly indicated that January was never considered ideal for his development.

That stance fits the broader strategy. The Brazilian side want to avoid weakening the squad mid-season, especially with major competitions in play. They also believe his value can rise further with consistent minutes.

Bidon’s comments do not accelerate anything. Instead, they reinforce what has been clear for months. Europe is the destination. The Champions League is the dream.

For Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, the message is that he door is not closed… But it will only open on Corinthians’ terms.
