Chelsea ‘quite clear’ after contact for transfer – Youngster going nowhere
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessChelsea have informed Borussia Dortmund that they’re planning to use Aaron Anselmino themselves next season.
That’s according to SportBILD. They report that Dortmund have been in contact with Chelsea over their current loanee.
They explain that Dortmund had been hoping to extend the defender’s loan beyond the end of the season. He joined them in the summer on a season long loan deal from Stamford Bridge.
He’s performed well so far, when fit, with nine appearances in all competitions to date to his name. Dortmund would like to extend his stay but have seemingly been pushed away by Chelsea.
The German side had been contacted by those in charge at Dortmund about the prospect, but Chelsea were ‘quite clear’ with them. They are planning for next season with Anselmino in the team.
As a result, Dortmund’s desire to sign the Argentinian permanently, or even extend his loan deal, has been essentially dismissed internally.
Of course, there’s every chance that Cheslea will change their mind before the end of the season. But given their defence is considered the weakest area of their team, it’s hardly surprising they want a look at Anselmino for themselves.
