Marco Rose is ‘trying to lure’ player to Bournemouth – Another RB Leipzig reunion likely

RB Leipzig midfielder Xaver Schlager could be a target for Marco Rose when he takes charge at Bournemouth this summer.

BILD report that the 28-year-old would be a potential target for Bournemouth this summer as Rose plans his set up on the South Coast.

The newspaper explains that while Marco Rose won’t be taking charge until the summer, everyone at Leipzig is wondering who the former coach will take with him.

Rose has already planning for his current assistant coaches, Alexander Zickler (52) and Marco Kurth (47), will accompany him. But that is far from certain according to BILD’s information.

What is certain is that he’ll be reunited with three form Leipzig men at Bournemouth as it is. Dr. Percy Marshall and former RB players Tyler Adams and Justin Kluivert are already with the Cherries.

A report this month even stated that Percy Marshall was the one who proposed Rose to Bournemouth.

New midfielder

In Leipzig, there’s also talk of whether Marco Rose is ‘trying to lure’ midfielder Xaver Schlager to England.

The 28-year-old rejected a contract extension at the German club at the beginning of February, and his current contract expires in the summer. His future is therefore currently uncertain.

Bournemouth could be an ideal destination. He and Rose ‘hold each other in high regard’ and Schlager was one of Rose’s favourites during his time at RB Leipzig. They also worked together in the youth academy at Red Bull Salzburg.

The pair also share the same agent, Andreas Sadlo at ROOF agency. That means a deal would not be very difficult to get done.

BILD also argue that Schlager’s style of play would suit the Premier League. There’s also a belief that the Austrian wants to move to England at some point. When he rejected the last contract offer, reports stated that he wanted ‘a new culture, a new language, (and) a new country’.

That also adds strength to the idea he could be tempted by a move to Bournemouth this summer. In Germany, they certainly believe that Rose is tempted by the move to reunite with another Leipzig man.
